It’s the mid-1950’s, and two elderly sisters are living out the summers of their twilight years on a small island off the coast of Maine. This sensitive and gently humorous study of the widowed sisters offers the richness of past memories and the fading promise of the future in dubious battle. Their surroundings cause them to recall their ever-changing relationships as young women, and the events of summers of the past. As these endearing women search for calm, they share their dreams as well as the salt air of their wry recriminations.
